Resident/Overnight Camps
Weekly sessions (beginning Sunday morning through Friday evening) where staff stay on site throughout the program week. Staff may be asked to work with camper programs that occur over a weekend.

Team Roles

  • Camp staff will provide fun, positive and active leadership to campers; facilitate a girl-led camper program, work with all campers ages 7-17 who attend GSGCNWI programs, and build a supportive environment where campers can grow, make new friends and try new things.
  • Positions begin early June with staff training, and finish in early August, with opportunities for occasional fall work.

Program Leaders coordinate and supervise all aspects of programming in specialty area as assigned by camp director. Coordinate and supervise schedules of specialty area. Supervise assigned staff and work with camp director to lead relevant portions of staff training. Ensure that safety standards are being met in specialty area and manage and maintain records and reports. Is responsible for communicating with other leadership team staff any needs or concerns. Live in and provide guidance for camper units during the summer to allow for hands-on interactions. This is a multifaceted position with decision-making responsibilities. Program Leaders will report to the Program Director or Assistant Director, dependent on camp location.

Qualifications and General Expectations (for all positions)

  • Leadership team positions require 21 years of age or older, positions which include potential responsibility for transporting campers require 23 years of age or older with valid driver s license.
  • High School Graduation is required
  • All staff must possess First Aid and CPR certification by the employment start date. Training is provided for camp staff on select dates by GSGCNWI for no fee.
  • All staff must provide proof of completion of Mandated Reporter training prior to the employment start date.
  • All staff must submit proof of health physical clearing the candidate for work in a camp setting.
  • Staff should have prior experience with child care, education, and/or outdoor recreation.
  • Candidates should be willing to live and work in an indoor and outdoor camp setting, which includes working irregular hours with limited or simple equipment, rustic facilities, wildlife and insects; limited technology while at camp, and daily exposure to sun, rain, and other weather conditions.

Salary is a daily rate dependent on the candidate s position and experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
